Glossary Shipping Documents

Shipping Documents refer to documents accompanying the documentary bill issued by exporters in accordance with the terms of a letter of credit immediately after the cargo has been shipped. Some of the major shipping documents include a bill of lading (B/L), an insurance policy (IP), and a commercial invoice. In addition, other documents such as a consular invoice, a customs invoice, and a certificate of origin may be required depending on the requirements of the importer.
