[Brazil]Jul. 29 Storm damages containers on Ever Feat
On July 29, the Evergreen vessel Ever Feat berthed at the port of Montevideo, Uruguay after encountering a storm off the coast of Rio Grande, Brazil. The vessel suffered damage to 30–40 of its containers, which are reported to be on the verge of falling off the ship. [UK]Jul. 30 Flight delays at major airports due to ATC issue
On July 30, flights across the UK’s airport network faced delays due to an air traffic control issue at the NATS Swanwick center. The problem affected airports including Gatwick, Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Birmingham. [South Africa]Aug. 2 Flight delays at O.R. Tambo due to ATC system failure
On August 2, a critical Air Traffic Control systems failure caused delays and schedule changes at O.R. Tambo International Airport. [Peru]Aug. 2 Container spill in Callao Bay due to dense fog
On August 2, approximately 50 containers fell from the Ever Lunar Merchant ship in Callao Bay, Peru, due to dense fog. The incident resulted in containers floating and some spilling contents like electronics and textiles into the water. Evergreen Marine initiated containment and recovery operations, which are expected to take several days. The event highlighted vulnerabilities in Peruvian port infrastructure and raised concerns about potential environmental impacts.
