Glossary Ocean Transport

Ocean Transport is a transportation system that uses ships as a means of transportation for the spatial transportation of people and goods along the ocean routes or coastal routes. Ocean transport refers to the act of receiving freight charges for the transportation of passengers or cargo by using ships at sea. Ocean transport has three main elements: the sea which is the transportation route, the ship which is the means of transportation, and the crew who control and manage the transportation. Although it is subject to various constraints such as weather conditions, with the development of shipbuilding technology, dedicated ships, high-speed ships, and large-scale ships are being promoted for different types of cargo, making a significant proportion of global trade volume to be transported by sea.
