Glossary Gantry Crane

Gantry crane is a dedicated crane to load or unload containers in container vessels at a container terminal. It is a large-sized crane that moves on a railroad attached to the apron and is used for loading and unloading containers. It is also known as a portal bridge crane as the structure of the body is similar to a bridge.
