Glossary Tonnage

Tonnage is a unit that indicates the size and capacity of a ship, representing the total volume that the ship can accommodate. Tonnage is divided into gross tonnage and net tonnage. Gross tonnage represents the total volume of the ship, and is measured according to the structure, size, and capacity of the ship. Net tonnage represents the actual transport capacity of the ship, and measures the capacity excluding unnecessary parts from gross tonnage.
